How does tft lcd display work?

Tft lcd display screen is a type of liquid crystal display that utilizes thin-film transistor (TFT) technology to improve image quality. The structure of the TFT LCD display is that a layer of liquid crystal material is sandwiched between two glass substrates, one of which is covered with a TFT made of amorphous silicon film, and the other is covered with RGB (red, green, blue) color filter. Each pixel is controlled by a TFT, which can provide an appropriate voltage for each sub-pixel, thereby adjusting the alignment direction of liquid crystal molecules and controlling the amount and color of light transmitted. This is why TFT LCD displays are also known as active matrix displays12.

TFT LCD displays work by utilizing the properties of field effect transistors (FETs). A FET is a transistor that uses an electric field to control the flow of current, and it has three terminals: source, gate, and drain. FETs change the conductivity between the drain and source by applying a voltage across the gate. Using FETs, we can construct the drive circuit 1 as shown in the figure below.

The data bus sends the signal to the FET source, and when the SEL signal applies a voltage to the gate, a driving voltage is generated on the TFT LCD panel, and a subpixel is lit. A TFT LCD display contains thousands or millions of these driving circuits.

1. The LCD display is a widely used display device. It adjusts the structure of the liquid crystal element through the action of an electric field on the tiny liquid crystal element on the liquid crystal sheet, and controls its light transmission, so as to achieve the purpose of displaying images. . The working principle of the LCD display is to cover a piece of flat glass with a thin film, coat a conductive film under the thin film, then coat a thin film on the conductive film, and finally coat a liquid crystal film on the thin film. When the liquid crystal film is in contact with the conductive film, the liquid crystal molecules can be arranged in a certain direction under the action of an electric field.

2. What are the main components of the LCD display? The LCD display is mainly composed of three parts: the liquid crystal glass screen, the backlight source and the driving circuit. Among them, the liquid crystal glass screen is responsible for displaying image information, the backlight source is responsible for illuminating the displayed image, and the driving circuit is responsible for controlling the displayed image.

Third, how does the lcd display work? The LCD display realizes the display by utilizing the characteristics of the liquid crystal material. Liquid crystal materials have smooth surfaces that reflect light. When there is nothing in between the liquid crystal material, light is incident perpendicularly along the plane of the material, so reflected light exits perpendicularly along the plane of the material. But if some substance is placed in the middle of the liquid crystal material, such as a liquid crystal element, the light will be disturbed by the substance instead of being vertically incident along the plane of the material. In this way, the light is reflected in a different direction, which creates the display effect.

Fourth, what are the advantages of LCD Generally, liquid crystal displays (LCD) have higher resolution, higher brightness and lower power consumption. Plus, they’re durable and flexible.
